Story and Clark Organ Company Chromalithograph

This chromalithograph print was sent to my studio after it fell from the wall where it was hanging.  As part of traditional framing practice, hinging tapes were used directly on the back of the print and when the print fell, the hinging tape tore two large holes in the logo of the print.  After documentation, the print  was removed from its frame and the hinging material removed from the back of the print.  The front and back of the chromalithograph was dry-cleaned to remove any surface dirt and the torn pieces were reintegrated into the print and reinforced.  Any further areas of loss were then inpainted and the final print was pressed where needed to flatten any folds.
